This morning was another morning that didn't go my way in
regards to waking up in enough time to go to the gym. I wanted to write about
this topic for a quick second because I think its important to know that when
fitness is a lifestyle it is important to plan for it, but at the same time be
ready to roll with life's punches. As a new mom I can say first hand that
adaptability has become a survival mechanism for me. At any point I may
be ready to head out the door or arrive at my destination only to discover a
blow out diaper, or find Ella is tired, or that she puked all over her new
dress. These circumstances although very frustrating simply come with the
territory of being a new mom, and I am sure whether you have a new baby or just
started a new job life happens. Knowing this ahead of time I think it is important to get it in your mind that you will
have to roll with the circumstances as they come. Workouts are the same to me in that you have
to have a back up plan to the first plan and if your life gets really crazy
like mine is right now try to have a back up plan to the back up plan. I was
able to accomplish this by 1st getting most of workout done early this week vs.
leaving it to the end of the week where I have no wiggle room for life's
changes. 2nd I am working hard to keep myself committed to my plan so if I
don't work out that morning then I am already making plans on how I can rework
my workout into a later part of my day. It is not an option to give up on it or miss a workout at this point.
Last night was a prime example for this because it was my plan to work out in the morning but I overslept so I moved the workout to my evening.
